In
Norfolk and Suffolk the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU)
endorses S.A.F.E. (Safer Activities For Everyone) as meeting the
Standards for Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport,
which were jointly developed with Sport England in January
2003. S.A.F.E. is an excellent example of a preventative
initiative, which is aimed at helping groups reach high
standards in child protection. The scheme has been developed to
assist in the assessment of risk and the development of sound
working practices. We are reviewed annually and certificates
last for three years.
All adults have a duty of care towards
the children and young people in our school and are responsible
for health & safety, first aid, general well-being and child
protection. Our overall aim must be to be aware of risks and
minimise situations where abuse may occur, whilst ensuring that
children & young people continue to enjoy and benefit from our
martial art.
