The Norwich School is located at Unit 10, 128 Hellesdon Park, Drayton High Road, Norwich, in the industrial estate which lies opposite Asda. We hold classes everyday (except Sundays), depending upon your level and age, but visitors are welcome at any class. Each class lasts approximately 1 hour and a quarter and consists of a complete warm up, exercising and stretching all of the major muscle groups and all 164 joints (Mohm Puhl Ki), from head to toe, followed by the appropriate etiquette of bowing to the National Flag, Association Flag, Grandmaster (Kuk Sa Nim) In Hyuk Suh, then Black Belts in decreasing seniority order. The majority of classes start with Ki Cho Ja Ki, the fundamental breathing exercises, designed to help develop our "Ki" or internal energy. The development of these techniques enables the practitioner to use this internal energy as a powerful supplement to their own physical strength. During Ki Cho Ja Ki, energy should be focused on the hands, stretching the figures far apart, whilst keeping the body as relaxed as possible. Part of the continued warm up involves the practicing of the basic kicks and punches, followed by the more advanced kicks, punches, chops and combinations. Care is taken from an early stage to ensure each move is completed accurately, speed and power are not necessarily important. This prevents students picking up any injuries or poor habits, whilst maintaining correct stance and posture. Beginners classes combine a mixture of spoken Korean language and English when counting and giving directions, however, the Intermediate and Advanced classes are conducted mainly in Korean. Care been taken to ensure that all material in these pages is up to date and does not breach any WKSA regulations, If you believe any of the information to be in breach of the regulations and or out of date, please contact the webmaster.
